Live music has no second takes
Red carpets, live sets and artists on someone else’s schedule. The moment happens once. Some edits ran overnight so the content was live the next day.

The brief
Sennheiser’s Professional Audio team in Australia and New Zealand looks after two of the most trusted names in sound, Sennheiser and Neumann. Every film carries a global brand’s standard, and the best of it travels.
The work lives where music lives. Recording studios, small live rooms, red carpets and artists with tight windows. The audio has to be as good as the picture.
They needed one crew to carry it end to end, from the shoot to the last cutdown, and come back with the story.
The challenge
Red carpets, live sets and artists on someone else’s schedule. The moment happens once. Some edits ran overnight so the content was live the next day.
For an audio brand, the mix matters as much as the picture. Every film had to hold up for people who make microphones for a living.
A brand film one month, a two-part artist series the next, then 16:9 and vertical cutdowns for every channel. One crew, one standard across all of it.
Sennheiser and Neumann had to sit in each film the way they sit on a working day. On the desk, in the case, on stage. Never a product shot cut in for its own sake.
Spotlight · Velvet Bloom
A two-part artist series we made with Sennheiser, following the band Velvet Bloom.
We filmed them two ways in one night. Live in a small red-lit room, close in on the performance. Then around a candlelit table afterwards, talking about how the band works, with Maddy Herbert on lead vocals and Alex Marko on guitar and production.
From that one night came two episodes and a trailer for each, in 16:9 and vertical. Maddy’s Sennheiser EW-DX receiver sits in the story the way it sits on stage, with her name on the display.

Spotlight · Who Is Eric J
An artist story made with Sennheiser and Neumann about Eric J, a producer and engineer, told entirely in his own voice in his own studio.
We filmed it as documentary. A long interview with room to think, cut with the things that say who he is: the gold records on the wall, the analogue outboard, black and white photos with the artists he came up with.
The brands come in the way they would on any working day. Sennheiser headphones on while he works, and a Neumann U87 lifted out of its case as he talks about the first real microphone he ever bought.

What we delivered
Three years of work across Sennheiser and Neumann, from studio sessions to awards nights. One crew carried the shoot, the edit and every cutdown.
Our crew came up through live broadcast, and our Director of Photography is a trained musician, so a live room, a moving run sheet and an overnight edit are a normal day. That’s the same approach we bring to brand films and event video across Sydney.

The result
Job by job, the work grew into three years across Sennheiser and Neumann in Australia and New Zealand, from a brand film to a two-part artist series.
Content from the partnership was picked up for the brands’ international channels, well beyond the local brief.
Our Director of Photography was invited to present at Sennheiser’s CREATOR event.
