A red carpet is the least forgiving place to film. One pass, talent moving through on someone else's schedule, and every other camera in the country pointed at the same spot. Sennheiser and Neumann needed coverage that was theirs, and they needed it out while the awards were still the story.
We covered the carpet on the night and cut it overnight, so it was live the next day. Two ratios came out of the same night, 16:9 and vertical, so it ran everywhere it needed to run. Oscar is a trained musician with a background in music television and broadcast, which is why the music work sits with us.
This is one night inside a partnership now in its fourth year, across both the Sennheiser and Neumann brands. Work from that partnership has been picked up for the brands' international channels.
