An artist story built around one question rather than a list of credits. Eric J is a producer and engineer, and the film was made with Sennheiser and Neumann, so the microphones had to be part of the story rather than product shots bolted on.
We filmed it as documentary in his own studio. A long interview with room to think, cut with the things that tell you who he is: the gold records on the wall, the analogue outboard, the Neumann in its case, old photographs of him with the artists he came up with. Oscar is a trained musician who came up through music television, which is why music subjects tend to open up rather than perform.
