A Halloween activation at a Bunnings Warehouse: a walk-through haunted house, animatronics, a reptile show, face painting and a sausage sizzle. Plenty going on, but a story only reaches air if it arrives looking like news.
We shot it the way a news crew shoots it. A Bunnings team member to camera for the grab, families and kids in costume for the reaction, and b-roll cut to newsroom conventions so an editor could drop it straight into a bulletin. Oscar came up through live broadcast television, including years at Network Ten, so the package was built by people who know what a chief of staff will and will not run.
Plenty of production companies will film an announcement. Far fewer build the package so it actually gets picked up. Airtime is never guaranteed. The package is simply built to be run.
