Chandon Ladies Day and the Pink Fashion Lunch at Rosehill Gardens, in support of the McGrath Foundation. A pink carpet on arrival, a full ballroom lunch, a runway parade straight through the room, live music and dancing to close.
We covered arrivals on the pink carpet, the ballroom filling, the parade and the music that closed it. A crew that knows how a race day runs is most of the job here, because the running order shifts and nobody stops to tell you.
The parade runs once, moves fast, and doesn't wait for a camera to find its spot. Positions were set before it started rather than found during it. Everything else on the day, the arrivals, the room, the music, can be picked up as it happens. The runway can't.
