CMO Connect, the AANA's invitation-only dinner series for chief marketing officers, this edition at Quay above Sydney Harbour and sponsored by Gain Theory. A small room, a hard audience, and speakers who aren't there to be filmed.
We worked light. Arrivals as the sun went down over the Opera House, the open kitchen plating through service, the room, and the speakers: Karen Kaufman from Gain Theory, Roger Dunn from Diageo and Rose Herceg from WPP. We hold the AANA house style from previous events, so this one needed almost no briefing.
The value in a standing crew is what nobody has to say out loud. We already know the run of these nights, the venues, and the house style, so each one takes less briefing than the last. Ali doesn't sit across the shoot day, and doesn't need to.
I'm really relaxed. Even the events I'm not present, I'm not worried at all. It's set and forget.Ali Chaouch, AANA
The AANA merged with ADMA on 1 July 2026 and now trades as the Marketing Association of Australia. We filmed the RESET event where the new name was revealed.
